ghosted..?

By

Is being ghosted the new form of just letting someone know that the other person is no longer interested in you, or is it simply their lack of maturity preventing them from being open and communicative? Because if that’s the case — that is somessed up. How can someone intentionally mess with another person’s feelings like that? Coming from an extremely overthinking person, I can say with confidence that it’s one of the most disorienting, gut-punch experiences.

Just imagine: you’re waiting for a reply, checking your phone, sending texts, making calls, stretching yourself a mile and a half just to meet them halfway… and then, out of nowhere — poof — they vanish like they never existed. No explanation. No closure. Nothing. It’s like being mid-sentence in a conversation and realizing you’ve been talking to an empty room.

And the thing that lingers isn’t just the silence, it’s the why. What’s going through the mind of someone who chooses avoidance over honesty? Is the truth so unbearable, or are they just too selfish to give you the basic respect of clarity? Because here’s the thing — honesty might sting, but ghosting cuts deeper and heals slower.

Maybe I’m just overthinking again. Or maybe… the truth is that ghosting says more about them than it ever could about me.
